My Journeys on The Hong Kong MTR:

I completed my quest to go to every stop on the Kwun Tong, Island and Tsueng Kwan O line. Let me explain. So a month ago, I made a bet to my friends that I'd go to every stop on the HK MTR(which is the metro system here in HK). In total there are 10 lines, each with various stations, 99 in total(not counting Light Rail and High Speed). And I took up the quest to go to every single station on the system. The rules were simple:

• Must use public transport/ walking
• Must use MTR in conjunction with buses, Light Rails and Trams
• Musn't just stay on the same line and get off at every stop
• As a proof of visiting the station, I must present the station signage, along with a photo of the surrounding area.

And thus my journey began, since I already had a few station signs and pictures of the surrounding areas prior to the challenge I incorporated them into my collection(because I can). My first few trips were on the Kwun Tong Line, by using buses on HK Island I was able to travel to Major bus interchanges(which were often near MTR stations)very quickly and cheaply, such as route 671, route 509, route 2A, route 42 etc. These buses took me to Diamond Hill, Sham Shui Po(Lai Chi Kok, Chueng Sha Wan on the same line), Exhibition Centre(Wan Chai, Causeway Bay and Admiralty on the same line), Tsing Yi(Lam Tin, Kowloon Bay, Kwun Tong, Ngau Tau Kok on the same line) respectively.Since I lived n HK Island, the Island and South Island line were easy to go, by taking the 2a, 77,99 routes in conjunstion with trams and walking I was able to collect a majority of stations within a day. Now I was already 2 weeks into this quest, so my progress was going pretty smoothly, but a problem quickly arose. I was quickly running out of fresh routes to take, if I wanted to be efficient. So I engineered a new plan: Use the most creative way to get to a station, so the trips would be fun and rewarding. Well that didn't go as smoothly as I'd planned, it was now July and I need to stop writing this. And I'll update this in a little while.
